Reading People

$7.00

The Reading People IQ Matrix explores how to better recognize and understand people’s nonverbal signals. When we communicate with others we do so on two levels. We first communicate at a verbal level using words, phrases, questions and sentences. Secondly we communicate on a nonverbal level through our gestures, body language and facial expressions. Understanding these nonverbal cues can help us to quickly recognize what people are potentially thinking, feeling and emotionalizing internally. Furthermore it helps us to better understand people’s motives and intentions within any social situation. This specific map explores how to recognize and decipher eight common ways people can come across during a social interaction.

Who is this map for?

  • Anyone who typically struggles to recognize people’s nonverbal language patterns.
  • Anyone who would like to better understand people’s underlying motives and intentions.
  • Anyone who wants to better understand their own nonverbal communication tendencies.

Peter F. Drucker

    Product Description

The Reading People IQ Matrix explores how to better recognize and understand people’s nonverbal signals. When we communicate with others we do so on two levels. We first communicate at a verbal level using words, phrases, questions and sentences. Secondly, we communicate on a nonverbal level through our gestures, body language and facial expressions. Understanding these nonverbal cues can help us to quickly recognize what people are potentially thinking, feeling and emotionalizing internally. Furthermore it helps us to better understand people’s motives and intentions within any social situation. This specific map explores how to recognize and decipher eight common ways people come across in a social interaction.

All four branches of the Reading People map breakdown eight common ways that people come across while interacting with others. For instance a person can either come across as being engaged or disengaged while you are conversing with them. A person can also show signs of deceit or defensiveness. Recognizing the difference between the two can help you to better direct the conversation.

It is also helpful to understand the difference between a person who comes across as confident compared to someone who is attempting to assert their dominance and authority upon you. Finally, some people naturally come across as being friendly and relaxed, while at other times you will notice subtle signs within their body language, gestures, facial expressions and demeanor that will suggest that they have a romantic interest in you. Taking the time to work through this map will help you to better recognize and understand each of these nuances in behavior within the people you interact with.

Stick with these principles, memorize and incorporate them into your daily interactions with others and you will progressively become a very skilled people reader within various social settings. Within moments of meeting someone you will quickly recognize how they are potentially feeling toward you, and as a result you can adjust your approach, body language and communication style accordingly. Moreover, an understanding of this map will raise your awareness of your own nonverbal communication habits; as a result you will consciously recognize how you’re coming across to others in social settings.
